Ok, your post was mindly humerous but even so :

Quote of professional :

Quote:
1. following an occupation as a means of livelihood or for gain: a professional builder.
2. of, pertaining to, or connected with a profession: professional studies.
3. appropriate to a profession: professional objectivity.
4. engaged in one of the learned professions: A lawyer is a professional person.
5. following as a business an occupation ordinarily engaged in as a pastime: a professional golfer.
6. making a business or constant practice of something not properly to be regarded as a business: “A salesman,” he said, “is a professional optimist.”
7. undertaken or engaged in as a means of livelihood or for gain: professional baseball.
8. of or for a professional person or his or her place of business or work: a professional apartment; professional equipment.
9. done by a professional; expert: professional car repairs.
–noun
10. a person who belongs to one of the professions, esp. one of the learned professions.
11. a person who earns a living in a sport or other occupation frequently engaged in by amateurs: a golf professional.
12. an expert player, as of golf or tennis, serving as a teacher, consultant, performer, or contestant; pro.
13. a person who is expert at his or her work: You can tell by her comments that this editor is a real professional.
Now can you tell me, how your post had ANYTHING at ALL to do with that? Or maybe this is the RIGHT way to be? Yeah... I'll stick to this religion then =D.

You know when you're depressed, and you feel like killing yourself so the doctor puts you onto a shrink - and the shrinks response... Hey, I know how to make you happy. Let's stick you around in a circle of people who are ALSO depressed, and they can cheer you up (some how). This will really cure you. So one person talks about how his own son shot his daughter. Another person will talk abot how his dad, is his uncle, brother and father too... Well, these places obviously are great... I have an idea :

Why don't you setup a clinic for 56k users? It could be an online one too. Where you all sit around in a circle and whine about your 56k. It might work... That way, people won't have to get so off topic...

Professional - 56k Modem - Depression - Shrinks and clinics. There - We've come along way now.

The guys from EviL were pros imo before they disbanded (still a shame, but they had little choice). Those are the only ones I think you can really call professional guild wars players.
A lot of people THINK they're pro. If you're making enough gold by forge runs/FoW farms/whatever to pay for your in-game expenses you're NOT pro. If you're making enough gold to sell it on Ebay an cover your real-life expenses you are pro, but I don't think those people actually exist.

"pro" is professional = good enough at the game to get real money from it.

It doesn't mean you have grandmaster PvP skills because you might just be selling items and coin in auctions.

Also doesn't mean you are an Expert GW player because maybe you don't PvE as much as some others that know the maps, quests and other game aspects inside and out.

someone that dosen't do any of the OMGWTHeck things that have popped up over the months here.

lets see there was at least one thread of monk pve complants that lasted about 12 to 15 pages... just going by that its almost impossible to get anything done to be pro.

Who would have thought, some words in English can mean multiple things.

Pro is slang in gaming for good, it has nothing (necessarily) to do with earning money, stop being overly literal.

All I'll say is if I had a plat for everytime a "PRO RUNNER" died on a run I'd be the richest player in GW.

I'd say that we've pretty much come to the conclusion that you should never invite anyone who says they're "pro," and if you fight somebody who says they're pro, you'll probably win. Then the arguing started about who peed in whose cornflakes, and it all went downhill. Closed.
